To Whom it May Concern,

Originally I thought that I could create a WordPress account before putting it onto GoDaddy. Now that I’ve installed WordPress on GoDaddy it doesn’t allow me to just use the WordPress blog that I’ve made. I want to move my theme from SPHDS to the other SPHDS. I do not want to pay for it again, since I am only using it on one site.

Please let me know if this is confusing or what I can do to fix this.

Hello,

I just want to make sure I understand what you’re trying to do: have you gotten a hosting account with GoDaddy, and want to move your sphds.wordpress.com site to that hosting account?

If so, you will be moving from one system (WordPress.com) to another, separate system (a standalone install of WordPress.org, that you manage on your own). While you can export and import all of your data in this case, the theme cannot be moved (Wire is a premium theme, only available on WordPress.com).

May I ask why you are moving to the GoDaddy account? If I’ve misunderstood, do let me know, and maybe we can find a solution for whatever is prompting you to consider moving. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello Kirk,

Yes! Correct! I am trying to move my sphds.wordpress.com to sphds.org.

That is our school’s web domain. I didn’t realize I couldn’t just “link” it together.

Premium themes do not work on wordpress.org?! I was counting on using the theme. I was counting on getting the theme refunded and buying it again… or buying ForeFront — both have the style of whistle.com and spotify.com.

No way around it?

Hi,

We do sell some of our themes on Creative Market. While Wire isn’t available, we’re hoping to have Forefront available soon. I can’t guarantee a date, but we’re hoping in the next few weeks. I’ll keep you informed.
