    Hi,

I’ve outgrown my wordpress.com site and I want to move on to a wordpress.org site with a custom domain, my existing Simpler Time theme and some customizations.

I have a web developer who says he can just take the CSS/Images from the Simpler Time theme and move them over to my new wordpress.org site, along with some customizations I’d like him to make (shopping cart, etc). I understand that, technically speaking, Premium Themes are not designed to work with wordpress.org sites, but my web developer says he can make it work by reusing the CSS/Images from A Simpler Time.

Is there any non-technical reason I couldn’t reuse the theme CSS/Images in this way? For example, do I need to purchase another theme license to use the images / CSS from Simpler Time on my new wordpress.org site?

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is paleodaily.wordpress.com

Hi there. Unfortunately A Simpler Time is not available for .org sites just yet, so while you would be able to take the theme’s assets (styles, images) you would not have access to the theme’s PHP, which is driving a ton of how A Simpler Time functions. I’m very sorry but for the moment the theme’s isn’t available for purchase on self-hosted blogs.
