Why is it that the customization features are different when I purchased Funki on the Themify site but those same options are not found when I purchased the Funki theme from wordpress. For example, on the Themify site, I could adjust the header size, and change the slider feature’s speed, direction and content. It was very simple to adjust the site as opposed to the wordpress version where it seem much more difficult and limited.
Hi preachotb. The WordPress.org and WordPress.com experiences are in and of themselves different so your experience using Funki on a self-hosted blog will be different than your experience using it on WordPress.com. During our theme conversions to WordPress.com we strip out code that is inappropriate for WordPress.com—for example, code that we already have available in Widgets. We also tend to greatly reduce the number of options because so much of what the option panels change is already handled through WordPress.com features. If you’re looking for 100% control over things and a closer theme experience to what you see on the Themify website then you’ll definitely need to go self-hosted. Otherwise sticking with WP.com is a great bet, as the code has been completely overhauled and updated.
