Hello, I am interested in having a front page that features a static page in addition to my most recent post, but judging from an inquiry elsewhere on this forum that isn’t possible. The next best thing would be to have a static link to my most recent post (a link that I wouldn’t have to update every time I create a new post) but it seems that WP completes all of the database queries before rendering the pages so I’m wondering if that’s even possible.

If it isn’t possible, are there alternatives for having a static landing page that can still move visitors into the site via posts instead of categories or archives?

The blog I need help with is muthafletch.com

Hi there. I’m sorry but I’m having some trouble understanding your question. Right now, your home page is set as a static page, and you have a bit of text that reads: “[link here to most recent post]“. There’s no way to automate linking to your most recent post from this page, but if you did use a two-column layout for your page then you could have a widget that displayed the most recent posts on this page. If you wanted to manually link to your most recent post, then you could do that also.

The two-column layout will have to be good enough. Thanks for your speedy reply!
