chloebrinklowMemberI would like to remove side bar from posts so images can run full width. However I don’t necessarily want the post text to run full width. This isn’t a wordpress blog but I like how the images run wider than the text in this blog post: http://garypeppergirl.com/2013/10/louis-vuitton-the-spy-who-loved-me. Is there anyway you can do that using the Simfo theme? I am new to this so please excuse me if it is a silly question.
Thank you.
The blog I need help with is chloebrinklow.wordpress.comOctober 6, 2013 at 8:45 pm #141238
Kathryn P.Happiness EngineerHi there – it looks like you’ve managed to hide the sidebar on your posts. If you still need help with anything specific, just let me know. Thanks!

chloebrinklowMemberThanks so much for your response.
I have a few more queries.
1. I would love to a add search bar and social media buttons on the top row like this simfo version: http://themify.me/themes/simfo – however I want to add my own buttons. I would also like to add these buttons on the bottom of each post page as a share mechanism. Is that possible?
2. I would like to delete the – powered by wordpress message at bottom of the page and add in a copyright notice.
3. I am having trouble making the slider on the front page work – i have made the images feature images and tagged them as per the previous forums instructed, however they are still not appearing. Do I need to upload larger images to make this work?
Thank you in advance for all of your help.
Chloe :)

chloebrinklowMemberFollowing on from my last questions – for number 3. I have worked out how to make the images viewable in the slider, but then they don’t appear on the front page posts as well. I would like them to appear on both, not just in the slider or vice versa.
P.s The images are currently the wrong sizes I am just using dummy images while I work on tweaking the design.

Kathryn P.Happiness Engineer1. I would love to a add search bar and social media buttons on the top row like this simfo version: http://themify.me/themes/simfo – however I want to add my own buttons.
Simfo for WordPress.com is a bit different than the self-hosted version you linked to above – there isn’t an area for adding sharing buttons on the menu row. You can add your own sharing buttons to any of the existing widget areas.
I would also like to add these buttons on the bottom of each post page as a share mechanism. Is that possible?
You can set up sharing buttons below each post under Settings > Sharing:
https://chloebrinklow.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=sharing
You can add your own button graphics by following the instructions for adding a new service:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/#adding-your-own-service
2. I would like to delete the – powered by wordpress message at bottom of the page and add in a copyright notice.
The “powered by WordPress” footer notice is required, according to our Terms of Service. Even VIP sites like TED must keep the notice.
You can add a copyright notice to the footer with some custom CSS:
.site-info:before {
color: #000000;
content: "Copyright Me | ";
}Change Me to whatever you like.
I’ll reply to your other question separately.

When you say “front page posts” do you mean the posts that appear below the slider, like this:

I don’t see that post (“Beauty Heading”) as part of the slider at the moment. Would you mind giving me a specific example, using post titles? It’ll help me better understand your goal. Thanks.
