I’m a non-techy user of WP.com using ThemeMin, and noticed that some of my images (on both static pages as well blog posts) seem to have changed size from smaller (either thumbnail or medium) to full-sized.

I also noticed it seems to depend on the browser. I use Chrome (up to date), which is where I see my images load properly at first — for example, the 2nd and 3rd images on this page http://kiefferceramics.com/gallery/– and then pop to full. But if I view the same page in Safari, it’s fine.

Here’s a blog post that initially looks fine in Chrome, but once load is complete, jumps from thumbnails to full: http://kiefferceramics.com/2013/06/21/garden-influence-flora-faves/ Again, looks fine in Safari.

I’m unclear if I’m just seeing this, and need to do something in my browser (cleared the cashe and cookies), or if I need to fix it in WP so my images look proper from any browser.

Thanks so much for your help and insight! I’m dreading re-loading every image as a fix.
    Best, Kristen

Hi Kristen, I had a look both of these posts in Chrome 33 on Mac, both logged in and not logged in. I’m not seeing the size of any images changing as you describe. Everything stays at the right size on my end – and your pottery is gorgeous, by the way!

On thing to try would be turning off all Chrome extensions to rule out an addon interfering. Here are instructions for doing that:

Scroll down to the section called “Temporarily disable extensions.”

Let me know if there’s any change after turning them off. Thanks!

    Hi Kathryn,

Thanks so much for your response (and compliment!).

I disabled the extensions (only had my Pinterest ‘Pin-It button there), closed Chrome, re-opened, and no change. I’m delighted the issue is only visible on my end, however! But would still like to figure out if I can stop the size jump. Other suggestions?

    Best, KK

I can think of a few other things you could try:

Create a test page with only the top collection of six images and see if the same thing happens. If it doesn’t, add the next batch and test again. Repeat until the issue happens again. This could help narrow down whether there’s a problem with a specific batch of images, or whether there’s something with this particular page.

I was also wondering whether you’ve considered using the built-in gallery capability instead of manually laying out the images? It’s usually quicker to set up collections of images this way, though it may be unrelated to the issues you’re seeing:

Let me know how it goes!
