    Hello, everyone!

I would like to know if the Penguin Theme by WPZOO is a valid theme for using when I migrate my website to Namecheap.

Also, can a .com website from WordPress be migrated as it is instead of adding a .org at the end?

Thank you so much for your reply in advance!

    Cheers,
    Suhail.

    Hi Suhail,

I would like to know if the Penguin Theme by WPZOO is a valid theme for using when I migrate my website to Namecheap.

I’m not familiar with that specific theme, but if you’re moving to a self-hosted site (running the WordPress software on your own hosting) you’re free to use any self-hosted theme you like.

Also, can a .com website from WordPress be migrated as it is instead of adding a .org at the end?

You can use any domain you own. You don’t need a .org domain – it can be .com, .blog, .ca, or anything you prefer!

You will NOT be able to keep a wordpress.com subdomain with a self-hosted site. (i.e. yourgroovysite.wordpress.com). Those subdomains only work here on WordPress.com.

    Good luck with your move!

Great! I’ll mark this thread as resolved but feel free to start a new one if you need help with anything else.
