Just realised this theme doesn’t work properly in IE8 or IE7, which is about 8% of my users. This is disappointing considering how much I paid for the theme.

Anyone have any tips on improving the appearance of this theme in IE?

Hi there, while we still try to make sure site content in IE8 is generally readable/accessible, the design may look “off” due to IE8’s lack of support for mobile-first design techniques.

We made this decision after reviewing’s traffic statistics, and found IE8 users make up a very small and dwindling percentage of the overall user population. We do not support IE7.

You can try adding conditional comments in your CSS file if you’d like to add CSS tweaks for particular versions of IE:

    To target IE8 specifically:

    <!--[if IE 8]>
    your IE 8 styles here

    To target IE7 specifically:

    <!--[if IE 7]>
    your IE 7 styles here

To target versions of IE below 8:

    <!--[if lt IE 9]>
your styles for IE8, IE7, and lower versions

You might also want to consider adding a banner to your site, encouraging visitors to update their browser:
