philiparthurmooreMemberHi there. We decided not to add this in because it would be too disruptive to the users who have purchased Pinboard and have been using it for quite some time without the comment links. If there’s any other trouble you have with the theme please do let us know.

La vie qui passe… avec plein de p’tits bonheursMemberHello,
Oh! You said… “it would be too disruptive to the users who have purchased Pinboard…”, but I purchased Pinboard theme.
In all others WordPress theme, there are always an indication of number of comments, so why the Pinboard theme did not?
You could put the number of comments below the image. You could put the number of comments under the picture, it would not be more disturbing than the categories and labels above the image.
Is what you have already done a survey of those who have purchased this topic to say “…it would be too disruptive to the users who have purchase Pinboard…”?
Sorry, I bought this theme too, and I would like the number of comments is indicated.
Thank you.

philiparthurmooreMemberHi Sylvie. Comment links will not be added to the front page. We’ve discussed this a lot internally and think it’s not a good move to add them in due to how many users would be affected. I’ll be happy to issue a refund if you’d like it for the theme. Cheers.

La vie qui passe… avec plein de p’tits bonheursMemberHello,
I just wanted an indication of the number of comments and not the display of comments. It does not take much space to indicate if one or more comments. So whether visitors are writing comments, it will always open each post … it is not logical.

philiparthurmooreMemberHi Sylvie. Let me talk this over with the team and see if we can figure out a way to make this work. Cheers.

QuipperyMemberIn CSS, can I add an “XX Comments” link on the bottom of each post on the Front Page? I think it could go right next to the “XX Bloggers like this” link without being intrusive. I like the idea of having a comments link in that location because the reader does not have to scroll back up to the top of the post to click the Post Title in order to leave a comment. (New readers might not know that they have to click the Post Title in order to leave a comment. Many readers are used to having a Comments Link somewhere on the each post on the Front Page.)

MichelleHi greylocks,
It’s not possible to add a comments link through CSS. We can modify the design (e.g. colors, font sizes, alignment), but not the mark-up.

Hello,
You wrote previously “Let me talk this over with the team and see if we can figure out a way to make this work”, so may I have a follow-up about my request, please.
To specify once again my request, I have 340 posts in my blog and I bought the Pinboard theme, but I would like that, on the main page, the “number of comments” is displayed for each post to avoid having to open each post to see if any.
Thank you.

philiparthurmooreMemberHi Sylvie. We’ll add an option into the theme which allows users to toggle the home page comments on and off. I’ll update this thread within a week, as soon as the option has been added into the theme. Thanks for your patience.

philiparthurmooreMemberHi there. This option has been added into the theme. You can enable comment counts on your home page by going to your options panel or customizer screen.

QuipperyMemberThanks for the comment count, though I was hoping the comment counts would be at the bottom of the post, not at the top. A reader usually wants to leave a comment after they have read the post, and it is more convenient for them if they don’t have to scroll back up to the top of the post, especially if it is a long post with lots of photos. Same goes for using tags to find other posts of a similar nature. Those are more practical if they are found at the bottom of the post than at the top.
