    Hi there,

    I am very new to wordpress and I’m having the same issue regarding removing the word ‘Home’ from the centre of the featured image on this page.

    Can I have some further information on how to change this? I haven’t used CSS before… And also, is it possible to remove this word for one page, but keep the title in the feature image on other pages?

    Many thanks!

    The blog I need help with is boxplot2013.wordpress.com

    Hi,

    I’m not sure I understand your problem – can you give me more details?

    If you are speaking of the front page featured image, and words superimposed on it, you can find out how to complete the front page set-up here, in the section “Using a Custom Front Page Template”: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/forefront/support/

    Regards,

    Kirk

    Hi Kirk,

    Thank you very much for your response. I have now set my front page and selected the front page template for it. However, the word ‘Home’ is still appearing on top the featured image. Is there any way to remove this text?

    There was a previous conversation in the theme forum regarding using a custom CSS to remove this text. If this is the case, could you please explain how I do this?

    Many thanks for your help!

    Hi,

    Please try this Custom CSS code:

    .page-template-page-templatesfront-page-php .entry-header {
    display: none;
    }

    Hi,

    Thank you so much for the custom code. Much appreciated!

    Is it possible to do the same for other pages and just modify the code? I also want to do this for my ‘Exhibitions’ page.

    Many thanks again!

    No problem! Do you mean “all pages” or just “Home and Exhibition”? There’s a different solution depending on your needs.

    Hi,

    I had the same question. Although I would also like to know the solution of how to remove the page title from individual pages as well as all pages. Thanks

    Hi there,

    At this point I would like to remove the title for ‘Home’ ‘Exhibitions’ and ‘About’. However, I may also wish to remove the title for future pages…

    Is there a formula I can use to remove it from individual pages as I go along?

    If not, then a css code to remove it from ‘Home’, ‘Exhibitions’ and ‘About’ for now would be fantastic.

    Many thanks again for your help.

    When you say Exhibitions page, do you mean a page like this? If so, we want to hide the “.page-title” element. We can target the specific page by using this css selector “.body.page-id-61”. The 61 here references the pages ID number. The following code will remove the title from displaying on this page:

    .body.page-id-61 .page-title {
    display: none;
    }

    To add more to the list, you can do something like this:

    .body.page-id-61 .page-title,
    .body.page-id-62 .page-title,
    .body.page-id-63 .page-title,
    .body.page-id-64 .page-title {
    display: none;
    }

    To get the ID of the page you can view the HTML source of the page and searching for “<body” by pressing Command + F on Mac OS or Control + F on Windows. The search results should bring to to a line that looks like this:

    <body class="page page-id-61 page-child parent-pageid-14 page-template page-template-page-templatesgrid-page-php logged-in admin-bar no-customize-support custom-background typekit-enabled mp6 debug-bar-maximized theme-menu-maximized highlander-enabled highlander-light">

    Then you just need to look for the part that has the page id (page-id-61) and add this to your Custom CSS.

    Hi Michael

    Unfortunately i couldn’t get your solution to work for me.

    Fortunately, I found this idea suited my needs and is less time consuming.

    .page-template-page-templatesfront-page-php .entry-header {

    display: none;

    }

    .page-template-page-templatesgrid-page-php .page-title {

    display: none;

    }

    .page-template-page-templatesfull-width-page-php .page-title {

    display: none;

    }

    @urbanusprefab: Thanks a ton for the update. I’ll mark this resolved and close it out, but feel free to open another ticket if you need anything else!
