    Hi!

    I’d like to be able to widen the content body of my posts, so that they take up a little more real-estate when viewed on a laptop full-screen.

    I tried adjusting the .entry-content class in CSS to 900px (the default is 768, I think) and while that works, it doesn’t widen any of the embedded Flickr images in my posts (which default to 768). How can I make embeds inherit this width, too?

    Also, I was wondering if there was a way to make media items appear a little wider than text. For example, I’d like all images and gallery items to be say 950px wide, whilst the body text is 850px. Is that possible? Again, I’d like my Flickr embeds to inherit the 950px width.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi there,

    Sure so you’ll adjust the .entry-content class’s max width:

    .entry-content {
        max-width: 950px;

    }

    Also, under the CSS area, you’ll enter 950 in the Media Width box.

    That will allow the entire area and the content/images within it to be wider.

    Also, I was wondering if there was a way to make media items appear a little wider than text.

    There’s not an easy way to do that with this theme. Images are inside of paragraphs, so if we make paragraphs wide, all of them are wide. That includes the ones that only contain text.

    However, with a newer theme like Twenty Nineteen, you can use the Image Block to make some images wide, while the text remains the normal width:

    Thanks, David. Appreciate the help.

    I was able to get mostly what I wanted by tweaking the style pack for Photo Blog to “modern” and applying the custom CSS class “fullbleed” to individual images. (I discovered that class by inspecting the CSS on the sample page)

    Now, do you have a list of other templates, like Twenty Nineteen, that take advantage of the new wide image blocks? Or an ETA on when some of the older templates will get updated?

    Thanks!!

    We do not have an ETA for when older themes will be updated but we do have new business themes that offer the full width images as well. You can find them all here:

    I hope that helps!
