    I’d like to hide tags and categories on the blog page. Can you please provide the correct CSS code for this?

    I’m currently working on the front page (static page) so the default page you’re seeing now is still my list of blog posts.

    Appreciate your help. Cheers

    The blog I need help with is theeagertraveller.com

    @theeagertraveller,

    The following CSS should do it:

    body.blog .tags-links,
    body.blog .categories-links {
    display: none;
    }

    Hi AM,

    Worked perfectly, thanks. Now there’s a huge gap in between posts on the blog page, would it be possible to decrease the space? Cheers

    Ooops after seeing the blog on a normal screen, the post title is overlapping over the featured image after hiding the category and the tags. If you could provide me with an alternative css please, thanks.

    How about only hiding the tags and keeping the categories?

    Michelle

    To hide tags only, just amend the code I provided earlier so that it looks like this:

    body.blog .tags-links {
    display: none;
    }

    To reduce the space between posts:

    .hentry {
    margin-bottom: 20px;
    }

    Change the number to suit your preference.

    Perfect! Just what I was looking for.

    While on the ‘customize’ page, the categories are fine, they are not overlapping with the featured photo above. But when I go to the actual website, it’s a different thing. Can you see the same from your side?

    Hi, can you provide a URL of a page where you’re noticing the overlap? So far, I have been unable to see it. Thanks!

    Hi there,

    Example of where the featured photo over laps with widgets on siderbar

    http://theeagertraveller.com/category/china/

    Also, as you can see the categories of the first page on the same page ‘China’ & ‘Guest Post’ are overlapping with the featured photo above. Same scenario with the other pages, i.e. posts page on http://theeagertraveller.com/blog

    Thanks

    Ah, I see it now. This code should add more space between the featured image and the categories:

    .blog-thumbnail + .entry-header {
    padding-top: 72px;
    }

    I provided CSS to address the featured image running into the sidebar here, so let’s keep that discussion over on that thread.

    Let me know how the above code works for you.

    Hi Michelle, just wanted to give you a heads up that there’s been a terrible storm here in the Philippines since Sunday evening so haven’t been to the office yet. Will advise you hopefully tomorrow. Thanks

    Hi Jean,

    Thanks for letting me know. Stay safe in the storm. Either I or a team member will be around to answer any questions whenever you’re ready.

    Howdy! I’m going to close this thread and mark this particular issue as resolved, and we’ll move over to the other one. :) Thank you!
