Jennifer DeneMemberHi,
I have been trying to use forefront for my website. If I go to the demo to see how to create the pages as they are in the example, I can’t find any instruction and it keeps asking to purchase the theme for my blog but I already have. I’m not sure if I have not activated something or if this really is all the guide is, just a picture example. I am trying to create a static front page that uses the grid layout but I cannot understand how to create the “child pages”. At this stage my front page is using the front template, but I don’t like how it looks with the widgets underneath.
I also want to widen my blog writing area and narrow the sidebar with the categories etc.
Finally, can I create a larger header image that will be consistent across all pages, similar in style to this: http://www.mynewroots.org/site/ that will take readers back to the homepage when they click it.
Thanks in advance for your help!
The blog I need help with is mindbodybride.comJanuary 15, 2014 at 7:23 pm #145439
Jennifer DeneMemberHi again,
I figured out the header image issue, but is there a way to minimize the white space between page title and content?
I still do need help on my homepage, I would love it to be set up like this one: http://highcountryfly.wordpress.com/

Kathryn P.Happiness EngineerHi there, I’ll be glad to help with your theme setup.
I’m not sure if you’ve already seen the support guide here:
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/forefront/support/
If you haven’t already, you might want to give it a look.

It looks like you’ve hidden your page titles with CSS, so I don’t see any at the moment. Is this something you still need help with?
Here’s how to set up the grid page template:
– Create or edit a page, and assign it to the Grid Page template from the Page Attributes module. Screenshot: https://cloudup.com/cUVeDWPYwkA
– The grid page you’ve just created displays all child (sub-)pages of this page with featured images in a grid. Learn more about how to create child/sub-pages.
I would love it to be set up like this one: http://highcountryfly.wordpress.com/
This is the widget setup for that site, which you can use as a model for your own if you like:
Let me know if I can be of further help.

Jennifer DeneMemberThanks so much. One last question, how do I put photos in my widget text box area as in the example above? Or are they child pages?
I appreciate your help!

You can add any HTML you like in a text box. The HTML for a link follows the format:
<a href="http://your-site.com/yourpage/">Visit this page</a>
Just change the link URL and wording as you like.

You can add images within text widgets using HTML, following this example:
<img src="http://mindbodybride.files.wordpress.com/yyyy/mm/your-image-filename.jpg" />
You can grab the full path for your images in the media library, from the File URL field, as in the guide here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/image-widget/#getting-image-url
Let me know if you’re set with this, and if you have further questions, please feel free to start a new thread. Thanks!
