    Michael,

    First my apologies!
    I thought the issues raised in my previous post (approx 60 mins ago) were resolved. However, my “closure” response was based only on viewing the blog on my iPad. When viewed on my (Windows) PC the footer text areas are formatted correctly but the total width of the footer area spills horizontally beyond the white page area ( which it did previously) sooooo, this last issue is not yet resolved…contrary to my advice.

    Also, is it possible to reduce the vertical space between the footer text widget display & the “Blog at WordPress.com……” bottom line text, by say 2 lines equivalent to further reduce the height of the footer?

    The blog I need help with is reigatebeekeepers.org.uk

    Hi there.

    I’m a bit confused by this question. I’ve looked at your original question also and it seems like what you want is a footer that expands out to the edge of the browser window? Like how it looks now? Can you clarify this for me?

    Also, is it possible to reduce the vertical space between the footer text widget display & the “Blog at WordPress.com……” bottom line text, by say 2 lines equivalent to further reduce the height of the footer?

    Try this:

    #supplementary { margin-bottom: 0; }

    Hope that helps.

    1. Apologies if I have caused confusion but, what I want is the footer area width not to extend to the limits of the browser window!

    ie I want the footer width to only extend to the width of the white content area.

    2. Have inserted the CSS you provided (to reduce vertical space between bottom of footer, text widget content & the bottom line WordPress ad). However, no change so assume some of the other CSS is over riding this?

    Thanks for the clarification!

    Try this:

    #colophon {

    margin: 0 auto;

    width: 1016px;

    }

    I’m sorry but I’m having a really difficult time duplicating this. Can you show me a screenshot of the gap? Thank you.

    I’m trying to get the width of the purple footer bar equal to the width of the white content area/background & NOT spill horizontally into the light purple side areas

    I’ve added Custom CSS into your site that takes care of this. Can you verify? Thanks!

    Brilliant! That is just perfect.

    My apologies again for the earlier confusion.

    WordPress.com support rocks!

    Awesome. :) I’ll mark this resolved and close it out but please do feel free to open another thread if anything else comes up!
