    HI there,

    I’ve had some issues loading a featured image on my blog posts. Specifically, the featured image drops below the title so that a white bar appears on the bottom of the image. The featured image also goes over into the sidebar. I’ve tried images of different sizes and it doesn’t seem to help. Any suggestions? Here is an example of a post I haven’t published yet.

    The blog I need help with is buildingblockslanguage.com

    One more comment on this issue-in the past you will notice I’ve gotten around the issue by just posting the image in the content of the blog so that the image appears below the title. However, my preference is to have the images above the title and insert them as the “featured image.” Just not sure why the formatting gets messed up when doing so. Thanks for your help!

    Hi there,

    The overlap between the title and the featured image is part of the theme’s design, but you can override it with the following custom CSS:

    @media screen and (min-width: 1230px) {
    .blog-thumbnail+.entry-header {
    margin-top: 0;
    }
    }

    Let me know how that goes!

    I’m working on pinpointing a solution for your other open thread, also, and will reply back there when I’ve got it. :)

    Thanks! This helps with the image not cutting into the title, but there is still a gray bar to the right of the image that cuts into the sidebar. Is there a way to keep the padding between the post and the sidebar, and get rid of that gray bar? Just looks a little messy. Is this how all posts appear on forefront with a featured image or does it have to do with my image size? I have never been able to figure this out. Thanks for your help!

    Hi there,

    That grey background is set behind featured images on single posts as part of the theme’s design. You can set it to white using the following CSS:

    .blog-thumbnail {
    background: #FFF;
    }

    Is this how all posts appear on forefront with a featured image or does it have to do with my image size?

    With Forefront, all featured images on single posts do overlap their title and have that gray background if they’re below a certain width. This is part of the theme’s design, which you’ve now overridden with your own custom CSS.

    Let me know if that helps to clarify everything or if you have further questions.
