    Hello!
    I just purchased the Funki Theme. I found a Funki theme with these features: side by side widgets and social media icons in the upper right corner: http://themify.me/demo/#theme=funki
    I was wondering how to:

    1) Add social media icons to the upper right corner
    2) Adding widgets with side by side

    Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is originalpiecemag.com

    Hi there!

    The version of Funki on WordPress.com is slightly different from the version at themify.me. As such, there are no options for social media icons or side-by-side widgets in our version of the theme. If you’re savvy with CSS, you may be able to make these changes using a Custom Design upgrade, but they’re not native to the theme.

    Sorry for the confusion. When in doubt, check the Theme Showcase–that will list the available features for each theme on WordPress.com and how to use them.

    I hope this clears things up. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have further questions.

    Regards,

    Caroline

    Hi Caroline!

    Where can I put the social media icons?

    Also, is there a css or html code to redirect pages to category topics. For instance, a page “beauty trends” could be redirect to the catergory beauty trends?

    On this theme there is a home icon; however, when I add a menu in the primary space, the home icon goes away. Can I add a menu and keep the home icon?

    Thank for your help,

    Nina

    Hi Nina,

    You could add social media icons to your sidebar using HTML in a Text Widget.

    There is no code to redirect pages to categories, however, you can add Categories directly to a custom menu. You can also add a “Home” link back to your custom menu using the Custom Links option.

    You can read about how to do all of this with Custom Menus here.

    I hope this helps!

    Regards,

    Caroline

    Hi Caroline!

    Thank-you! This helped a lot! One more question, can I move the search bar? I am unable to find a widget.

    Thank-you again for your help,

    Nina

    Also, Can I change the text “Category Archives: Nail Trends”? I added a catergory menu to the primary section – when I click it states “Category Archives: Nail Trends” then shows the post below.

    Thanks again,

    Nina

    Hi Nina! It’s not possible to move the search bar or change the default heading text for category pages (“Category Archives: Your Category Name”). You could use CSS to hide these areas with the Custom Design upgrade if you wanted, but there are no options to do this by default.

    Hi Caroline!

    I did purchase the Custom Design package. I am a beginner with CSS coding. How would I go about changing the coding to hide these areas?

    Thanks,

    Nina

    Hi Caroline!

    I found the coding to remove the search bar:

    .footer-line {

    display:none;

    }

    However, I am unsure of the coding for hiding default heading text for category pages (“Category Archives: Your Category Name”)

    Thanks,

    Nina

    Nice work! You can use a similar code for the category headings:

    h1.page-title {

    display: none;

    }
