    Hi all,

    to what extent is it possible to change the head image of my homepage for the image I include in a post? Currently, when I post an article, and someone clicks on the link, he/she has to scroll down, to get rid of the head image and get to the actual post and the image that belongs to the post.

    Can I, for each article, change the head image, into the image which belongs to the post?

    Thank you in advance for your time and help! Cheers, Daaf

    The blog I need help with is peponi-project.com

    The custom header is the same site-wide in Poly.

    If you’re looking for a theme that replaces the header image with a post’s featured image automatically, these themes do that:

    An alternative could be to hide the custom header on all posts (and pages, if you want) other than the front page. If you want to try that, let me know and I can help you with the custom CSS needed.

    Hi kathryn,

    sorry for the late reply. That sounds worth the try :-). Can you help me with that?

    (Another short question: I would like to get the date out of my URL. Instructions say I can change it in wpadmin -> settings -> Permalinks. However, I cannot find the button ‘Permalinks’ here. Do you have an idea?)

    Thank you again Kathryn, your help is much appreciated

    Sure! This custom CSS should hide the header image everywhere except the homepage:

    body:not(.home) .site-image {
      display: none;
    }

    Those instructions are for the self-hosted version of WordPress, when you’re running the software on your own hosting. It’s not possible to change permalinks on WordPress.com.
