Hi there, welcome to WordPress.com!
I want the same colors as the template but can’t find it.
Once you start adding posts that have different post formats (like quotes, images, links, etc.) you’ll start seeing the different coloured strips behind each post.
You can choose the post format that matches the type of content you’re adding, by selecting one from the Post Formats menu in the right column for each post, as you can see in this screenshot:
For example, the link post format will have a teal background, while the aside post format will have a coral background.
You can learn more about post formats here:
You can also choose between a few general colour schemes under Customize > Colors:
Plus the blue area with the images doesn’t show up.
The blue area with images is called the image carousel. To set it up, here are the steps to follow:
- Navigate to Settings → Reading.
- Scroll down to the section labeled “Featured Content.”
- Enter the name of a tag (for example – the word featured)
- Click the blue “Save Changes” button at the bottom.
After saving your featured tag name, posts having this tag will appear in the featured content section. Be sure each post has the same tag that you’ve designated here. Here’s how to add a tag to a post in case you’re not sure.
You can specify an image to be displayed with each post by setting a featured image. The suggested size for featured images is 175 pixels wide and 100 pixels high.
Here’s a guide to using featured images.
The theme’s info page has more help for using the theme:

Thanks so much. I am about to work on it and try it out.
Do you know if this type of template is something that I can have image links on the side for advertising or selling a product? I would like to feature certain things on the side.
Thanks.October 18, 2013 at 11:38 pm #141912
I uploaded a phone to the feature image. It still doesn’t show up in the feature part and no blue bar ever appears. Is there a glicth with this website? My wordpress is holistic-kid-care.com.

If you’re selling your own products that you’ve made, that’s fine. Just keep in mind that we don’t allow third-party advertising – you can learn more here.October 21, 2013 at 1:51 pm #141951

It looks like you’ve changed your theme from Nurture to On a Whim. The instructions I gave you earlier for setting up your image carousel (the blue bar with images) only apply to Nurture.
If you need help with On a Whim, feel free to ask your question in the On a Whim forum:October 24, 2013 at 2:42 pm #142175
Hi there, I’m going to close this thread since you’ve switched themes, but if you return to Nurture and need further help, please feel free to start a new thread here and we’ll be glad to take a look.
