    So we bought this theme because we LOVED the featured area at the top, how big it was, the functionality of that section with the text and numbered featured that you can have several etc.

    What is frustrating is that we bought it for a whopping $100 and it doesn’t even function the way we want it to! I am not computer illeterate, I know what I am doing and have used wordpress before. What we would like is to know how to make the blog look exactly like the sample of Funki, but we just want to alter the background/colors/typefaces/widgets etc. but the EXACT same format/layout/functionality of it….

    How do I do that? I’m getting extremely frustrated.

    The blog I need help with is nathonsims.wordpress.com

    OK, so nevermind I figured the featured box out after reading more posts here.

    I do have a question about that section though….

    We want to do a video in the feautred post section….is that possible? or is it JUST images that will be displayed?

    Hi nathonsims. Sorry for the frustration! I hope the additional time you’ve had to spend with Funki has helped. With regard to the featured section, it only supports Featured Images, not videos. So, in your case the best bet would be to include the video in your posts so that users would be able to view them at the single post URL.

    With regard to Funki’s demo site, the settings we’re using are as follows:

    • Background Motif: Three
    • Background Pattern: Horizontal Thick
    • Primary Color: #0087bc

    Thanks, its not the colors or background I’m liking. its more of the layout and functionality of it.

    Ok, so my next question is about the menus. I have 2 menus I want, but I want them both at the top… 1 above the header image, and the second below the header where it considers it the “primary menu” I don’t want the menu to go at the bottom or “footer” so how do I overwrite that?

    Also, is there a way to make it so that the “featured” section changes on its own between the multiple posts it shows?

    In regards to my post about the menus:

    basically what is shown as the primary menu, along with the search box, I would like above the header. and then replace the menu that was there with a different one.

    Howdy again, nathonsims.

    Also, is there a way to make it so that the “featured” section changes on its own between the multiple posts it shows?

    Unfortunately not.

    In regards to my post about the menus…

    This one will be a bit trickier, but try the following Custom CSS:

    #branding {

    padding-top: 58px;

    }

    .site-nav {

    position: absolute;

    top: 0;

    }

    #colophon {

    position: inherit;

    }

    .footer-menu {

    padding-left: 22px;

    position: absolute;

    top: 277px;

    z-index: 100;

    }

    .footer-menu a {

    color: black;

    }

    That will move your footer menu underneath the header and your primary menu above the header image. Let me know how it works out for you!

    Awesome! Thanks!

    also- is there a way to get drop down on the lower menu I have?

    I have it structured under menus where ex: art, and then underneath (to the left) i have 3 subcategories….but they don’t show on the blog. how do I get it so they drop down as subcategories on that menu?

    Because that menu is your footer menu (technically) it will only allow top-level links. There’s definitely CSS to turn it into a sub-level menu but it’s useless to you because that menu will only support one level, at most. This is because it’s designed to be in the footer, nowhere else; you’re the first I’ve seen to bump up both menus like this. :)
