… And did very little with my blog until now, when I want to relaunch it.

I see in Demos that Elemin looks better than ever, with lots more customization options. But my (old) blog doesn’t seem to reflect these new options.

How do I upgrade to the latest version of Elemin? I guess I need to upgrade to latest version of WordPress first?

The blog I need help with is thetimescribe.wordpress.com

Hi there! You are already running the latest version of Elemin on http://thetimescribe.wordpress.com/ Those updates happen behind-the-scenes on WordPress.com so you don’t need to do anything! :-)

Let me know which features you see on the Elemin demo and I’ll be glad to help you set them up.

I guess I need to upgrade to latest version of WordPress first?

If we’re talking about your site on WordPress.com here – http://thetimescribe.wordpress.com – you don’t need to upgrade anything as we take care of keeping your software up-to-date for you. If you’re referring to a different, self-hosted site, could you let me know the URL so I can take a look?

Ah, ok, thanks so much. I think what I really need is to find and follow a WP tutorial, so that I’m not just blundering around so much on thetimescribe.wordpress.com! I am planning to upgrade to self-hosting, so as to have the personalized URL. At that point I will be on my own with upgrades, etc, correct?

And yes – I would greatly appreciate advice on the status of the following, self-hosted site: https://www,thetimetribe.com

    Thank you for your help!

We have a handy guide for beginners here if you’d like to check it out. :-)

If you’d like to buy Elemin for a self-hosted site, Themify sells it as part of their theme bundle:

    http://themify.me/themes/elemin

https://www.thetimetribe.com doesn’t appear to be running WordPress, although the blog here is: http://blog.thetimetribe.com/

If I can help with anything else, just let me know!

Right – sorry. What I wanted to ask about was http://blog.thetimetribe.com/. I have been having trouble with post formatting and wondered whether WP and plugins are up to date or not.

And I will definitely be checking out the beginners’ guide, thank you!

I have been having trouble with post formatting and wondered whether WP and plugins are up to date or not.

If WordPress or plugins need updating on a self-hosted site, you’ll see update alerts in your dashboard when you’re logged in. For plugins, you’ll see the update notifications in the plugins area of the dashboard.

The current version of WordPress is 3.9.1. I see this line in the browser source on that site:

    <meta name="generator" content="WordPress 3.4.1" />

If you need help with a self-hosted WordPress site, you can try posting in the WordPress.org support forums, where there are lots of helpful volunteers:

    http://wordpress.org/support/

You’ll need a free WordPress.org account to post – if you don’t already have one, you can register here:

    https://wordpress.org/support/register.php

I wish you the best with your site!
