    Can I add a photo and short (15 word) bio into the right-hand column/sidebar? Also can I add some sort of email list form in the column/sidebar?

    To add things to the sidebar, you can setup widgets. The text widget would be good for a short bio, and there is a Follow Blog widget that will let visitors subscribe to receive new posts you publish by email automatically.

    Regarding adding a form for a third-party email list, that isn’t possible because adding custom form fields are not permitted in the content areas in WordPress.com. However, you could link out to a third-party email service. A link can be added in a text widget.

    Is there a way to add an HTML code into the side bar? I am apart of a network and I want to be able to put their company badge in the side bar and not just into a blog post.

    Answered my own question. I saw in that text widget you can had HTML. That is awesome!! :)
