    Hi,

    I have some questions about the Photo Blog theme :)

    1. How do I remove the header image from the inside pages? For example; https://theappuchronicles.com/2018/01/02/mini-moley-2018-day-2/ shows the header image ‘Look at this’ – is there any way to remove it from the inside pages?

    2. In widget 1 – Subscribe and Follow, how can I increase the size of the social icons and is it possible to replace it with the social logos?

    3. When I click on a category – for example – https://theappuchronicles.com/category/art-journal-pages/, is there any way I can set an image for it?

    4. In the category page, the first thing that shows up is the name of the category – in this case ‘Category: Art Journal Pages’ – how can I remove this?

    This is my blog – https://theappuchronicles.com/

    The blog I need help with is theappuchronicles.com

    Hi there – I’ll answer your questions in batches:

    1. How do I remove the header image from the inside pages? For example; https://theappuchronicles.com/2018/01/02/mini-moley-2018-day-2/ shows the header image ‘Look at this’ – is there any way to remove it from the inside pages?

    /* Remove header on all pages except the homepage */
    body:not(.home) .header-image {
      display: none;
    }

    For all the custom CSS I’ll be giving you, you go into the Customizer‘s CSS panel and add it there. (You can erase the default comments that are there now in reddish-orange.)

    2. In widget 1 – Subscribe and Follow, how can I increase the size of the social icons and is it possible to replace it with the social logos?

    Instead of the old Social Media Icons widget you’re currently using, I’d suggest you use the newer one, called Social Icons. The new one lets you choose from three different icon sizes, so it should achieve your goal.

    You can learn how to set it up here:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/social-media-icons-widget/

    For your Pinterest widget, you’ll need to use the .com URL, so: https://www.pinterest.com/craftwalli/

    Let me know how this goes.

    I’m not sure what you mean by “replacing it with the social logos.”

    3. When I click on a category – for example – https://theappuchronicles.com/category/art-journal-pages/, is there any way I can set an image for it?

    Where do you want the image to appear? One option is to place a small image to the left of your category heading “Category: Art Journal Pages.” By the way – I noticed that piece of text is currently very hard to read, since you’ve chosen “Small” as your base font. I might suggest returning that to the default size, and instead using custom CSS to modify font sizes, since it’s much more precise and you won’t run into issues like this.

    If you change the font size back to the default and upload an image (a small square is ideal) in your Media Library, let me know the URL of the image and I can help you add it to your category pages. You can also have a specific image for each category page – I can show you how to set that up.

    4. In the category page, the first thing that shows up is the name of the category – in this case ‘Category: Art Journal Pages’ – how can I remove this?

    Ah, you want to remove this – sure.

    /* Remove page title on category pages */
    body.category .page-title {
      display: none;
    }

    If you decide to add an image in that space, we may need to adjust the code, but we can look at that later.

    Thanks Kathryn – you’re awesome :)

    About #3, instead of a small image, would it be possible for me to put a header image? I would put a different one for each category; if this were possible.

    Thanks!

    My pleasure!

    Yes, that’s doable. You can add a header to each category, with some code like this:

    /* Add header to https://theappuchronicles.com/category/art-journal-pages/ */

    .category-16562780 .page-header::before {
      content: url("https://theappuchronicles.files.wordpress.com/2016/01/cropped-cropped-look-at-this1.jpg");
    }

    You’d need to repeat these lines for each category where you want to add a different header. You can grab the unique category ID by viewing the page source in the browser, or using a browser inspector to look at the body tag. You’d also replace the URL of the image with each one you want to use.
